  IOs there such an animal as a "Blue dog Democrat" or "principled Republican" when it comes to these close votes ?  Today we have a historic vote that can start the trail back to the a similar yoke we threw off in 1775. Several "blue dog" democrats have been holding out because of their "strong pro-life stand". The bill cannot be changed, so the only way they could vote for such a thing is if they abandon their "indelible beliefs". Obviously then, if any of these vote for the bill, they were just holding out for a bigger "payoff" ! Values can be trashed..their price was met.
  Same with Republicans who voted for the bailouts..and thus, the government acquisition and subsequent act of it being given as a gift , to the unions.

It seems to me in politics there are very few principled people. The worst thing is, is that they tack so many ammendments onto a that if people vote against say Illegal alien, they have some ammendment tacked on that you vote against feeding orphans. The guys who write the bills are all lawyers and fill them with crap.

No to the "blue dogs", no such thing as a moderate Dem.

There are only 10-12 principled Republicans in the House & Senate combined. That's why I feel "reforming" that party will be very hard.

I was hoping they would be able to keep it stalled. It appears we will have health care "reform" like it or not. I just hope the people of this country remember having something shoved down our throats come Nov. election time. AND THEN THROW ALL THE BUMS OUT!

YEP. No reason for ANY bill to have anything tacked on, there should be a law that all bills pass or fail on their own merit. POWDERMAN.

The "blue dog democrats" will hold their noses and vote for the bill, just like the "blue dog republicans" held their noses and vote last November. The Constitution means nothing to either party, and everyone might as well get used to it, and bend over.
