« on: March 14, 2010, 09:42:15 AM »
Go Cats tough fought game by both side Miss st played tough and with a lotta heart, But my Cats come out on top by one in overtime. I don't think they can win the NCAA playing like they have been but I think they can make it interesting.  Go Big Blue. ;D

The Refs gave that game to Kentucky. I guess if your name is John Wall you can shove guys out of bounce, run guys over, and its not a foul.

DDZ,

I'm fairly well disgusted with the way the refs in most of the conferences control the game.

I've watched a good bit of CBB this winter and the inconsistency of the play allowed was terrible.
They will let guys play totally physically and then call touch fouls.
I'm convinced that the conferences are doing this for NBA appeal to boost$$.

Given to the Cats?   Those bad calls go both ways.
Since they go both ways, each team shoulders the responsibility to win.

That was a great game.  Miss State deserves NCAA bid.

LC, You are right that calls go both ways, I guess the no calls at the end of the game just stuck out more. It was one of the most exciting games I've seen this season, and I do think Miss. St. should have gotten a bid. If the refs would have called a foul on Wall when he shoved the guy out of bounce on the inbound pass, I feel Miss. St would have won and hence their bid to the tourney. Kentucky already had their #1 seed locked up win or lose. I just wish the refs would either let both teams play or call fouls equally on both sides. We both know that will never happen in the NCAA. You might be right about it being about $. After all most everything is.

I'm not partial to either team, after all I'm a Pitt fan. Kentucky has a very talented team, and I hope they do well in the tournament. I would like to see Kentucky or Kansas win it, because I think these are the two best teams in the country and having them play for the championship would make for a great game.

It really seems that there is a lot of parity this year.  When you look at the field just about any team in the top 25 could come out on top on a given night.
I'm looking for a lot of surprises this year.  I thinking with the depth of competition there is a legitimate chance that none of the number one
seeds make it to the final four.

Pitt is one of those teams that could be a spoiler.  I'm looking for Louisville to beat Duke in the second round.  K State, WVU... a lot of strong teams
considering the field.

Definitely a wide open field this year, as anyone can beat anyone on a given night, but I think it really comes down to about 8-10 teams that legitimately (sp?) have a chance.
As far as poor officiating and inconsistency, go watch some high school games. Those refs don't even appear to be trying sometimes  ::)  ;D

looking forward to the tourney. but sometimes it looks like refs either consciously or unconsciously favor the superstars or the big name teams. i'm pulling for the orange
