this link about the TUSKEGEE EXPERIMENT is probably not huge news to some of you older guys but it is to me (26yrs old).  makes me cringe thinking about this kind of stuff and parallels with gulf war syndrome, aids/hiv treatment and containment, every OMFG flu season now, etcetera

any other aching vets here just wondering about all that crappy coverage at the va, pray that non-chalant neglect is all we get!!!

I'm hoping that with my wounds I'll get some VA benefits when I retire, but I'm not planning on it as I've heard way too much from those that have gone before.

When you sign on with the military you become "property" you are owned by them and are treated as such. When you are released from service they don't honor your service as they should. They still maintain the "property" mentality. Just more politician, coorporate, banker attitude. eddiegjr

i know my Dad was an MP in the pacific on a wee bitty island; they used to watch the mushroom clouds over the testing site, from the beach with a cold beer and sunglasses. He was medically screwed up for the rest of his life, and died with a whole passel of undiagnosed maladies. But that was in the 50's, did we test in the early 40's?

early forties... what was the date japan got bombed?  didn't the us have to test in the thirties?  I don't buy that crap about them cooking up a few for testing and then sending off the prototypes to save the world.  jmo though... I wasn't there.

speaking of, how do you like having your cammies sprayed with prometherane, and getting numerous shots all the time for supposed pre-deployment immuno therapy?  all those blood tests too... what are they really checking?  pendleton has nukes supposedly, same for 29 palms, and 29 palms has monsterous radio installations and naval bombing grounds that are on flat, barren ground in the desert so people out there HAVE TO be exposed to radiation and ionized air, radio waves on a massive scale, water from lake bandini (that's definitely bad)... my point is they ain't worried about promiscuous marines carrying stds- at least I doubt that's the priority.
