1967 Marlin catalog

I bought a 1967 catalog on ebay, got it today.
336C  $89.95
444 $124.75
I also have a M57 22mag i bought new, at K-mart i think in 1967 or 68 it is priced at $65.50
ain't it amazing how things change.
catalog says at 150 yds 444 w/240gr has more knock down power than 338mag and 300 H&H mag  w/200gr. and recoil of 30-06.
guess the 338 and 300 are just getting started about there. ;D

Very Interesting. It is amazing how things have changed. Now in 43 years that catalog might be considered contraban! Especially the products in it!

What did the "free" catalog cost you?   ;D

The "FREE" catalog cost me $9.50 shipped. things have changed
since i had 2 rifle from that year i went ahead a bought it.

I think it was good find! I have thrown away so many catalogs, I maybe should start saving mine for "life support" in my older age!

Yeah - I've always kept my old catalogs, for the fun and for reference.

In 1967, I bought my first .444 (new) in WoolCo's ( F.W.Woolworth & Co) sporting goods dept for $109.95 - and a box of 240gr Remmy JSP's was included !

I cut the barrel back, to a little over 16", within a few days.   ::)   ;D

In those days seems like all stores of any size sold guns Sears, Wards, and
most stores big enough to have a sign. I remember a grocery store where
i grew up in the 50's and 60's had a gun rack.

The country General Store in my Grandfathers parish kept two guns on display, a single shot shotgun in 12 ga. and a bolt action in 30-06. That was in 19 hundred and 58

A guy on the High Road has a bunch of Marlin catalogues from the 70's to 1992 listed for $6.00 apeice mailed. In case anybody is looking. I don't know him personally.

The town of about 15,000 that I grew by now only has one gun dealer and that is a pawn shop. When I was a kid in the 60s and early 70s I remember the following selling guns:
Wards
Otasco
Alco
another pawn shop - this one would sell me individual 45-70 rounds for .25 each for my father's trapdoor.
Sears
Gibson
Western Auto
One gunshop/reloading supply store
Probably a couple others I have forgot.
