Man, I don't know what to tell you about a sight. That might be a tough one! I'd love to find a couple of long slide 1/8 minute Lyman's for a couple of '03's, but those things have got mighty dear these days.
When I was working in the gun shop, a kid came in, rings in his eyebrows, lips, dandy lookin' nose stud, and a ladder of rings in his ear, black leather and his "ol' lady" as he described her, was dressed up with black lipstick, spikey hair, well, you get the idea....he says he wants to unload his Grampa's rifle, needs 'gas money', and pulls a 1943 dated Inland carbine and a half dozen mags out of a canvas case. HE set the price, at $125.00. One of those days where I put blisters on my hands pulling cash out of my pocket!
Several years back, a sporterized Winchester carbine came in, at a mighty friendly price, and I used all of my 'allowance', and a bit more out of the checking account to take it home. I had to think fast when I went through the front door with the little gem, as the wife, who I thought was out for the afternoon scrapbookin' with the daughters, was sitting on the couch reading a book.....first words outta my piehole was "Look what I got for ya". I'll be darned if she didn't snatch the bolt back, lock it down, check the chamber, looked at "Winchester" on the back shelf, and put it away! Ever once in awhile, she'll allow me to shoot 'her' gun........
