advice needed-removal front sight Mini 14

Am thinking of changing the front sight on a series 183 Mini 14. Read a blurb where these were pressed on at the factory and would need a press to remove. Anybody do this? How did you do it and how hard was it? Thanks in advance.

FYI: Found a bunch of mini14 fanatics over at the perfectunion BBS site. They had all the info I needed in their FAQ's.
