Barrels Overpriced ?

I love my Contender but have purchased several whole guns instead of other T/C barrels. I can't see how Rossi, Taurus, Savage,  H@R and others
can produce a compleat gun for less money than a T/C barrel.

I have not prices the names you have mentioned.  But if you can get them for under $225.00 then they certainly are fantastic buys.

I am VERY impressed with what H&R has done in the last few years with their single shot rifles. I have a friend that buys them all the time in different calibers. Just last week He brought over one in .270 and another in 30-06 for me to install scopes/bases/rings, and sight in. BOTH shot well under and inch at 100yds with Federal ammo. Not bad for an "El cheapo" brand.

Stay Safe,
Franz

I have to agree.  When I wanted a .270 I could buy a barrel and forearm for my Encore for close to $300?  Or buy a new Ruger for for $475.  I bought the Ruger.  For $175, I'll have my cake and eat it too!  Jim

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus
