Now all the Dems are blistering the Republican that wants to hold em to it!

That bill passed late Tuesday evening by a vote of 78-19.

Bunning had virtually no support from his own party, but demanded that his voice be heard.

"We cannot keep adding to the dead and passing the buck," Bunning said.

Under immense pressure from both parties, Senator Jim Bunning dropped his one-man roadblock of a $10 billion spending bill.

The bill passed, but not before the Kentucky Republican made a point.

"We must get our debt problems under control, and there's no better time than now," Bunning said.

His protest froze highway funds, furloughed thousands of transportation workers, and threatened to leave 400,000 without unemployment insurance.

It also threatened to cast Republicans in an unsympathetic light in a fight they didn't pick.

Bunning demanded the Senate find a way to pay for the bill before passing it, and he relented after being allowed to offer an amendment with a payment plan.

The Senator from Kentucky Relented this afternoon due to no support from his own Party! I am not surprised. no one wants to be regarded in abad light right now. Even the "Guy" (obama ) that pushed for the pay go rule!

Wonder what he was PAID to play?  He wanted something and worked on a deal but we may never know.  You can take it to the bank Bunning made money on this.

Well maybe he voted against it I dunno, but the Dems voted for it, and now dont wanna go by the rules. I was thinking that was his point. Dont really know him from Adam.

Sen. Bunning had the right stance, but picked the wrong bill to take the stand on.  Actually it was as right a bill as any, but he should have known that he wouldn't get much support when it comes to cutting off the gravy train.  He should have had a list of cuts that could be made to pay for it.  I would have started with suggesting that Nancy Pilosi loses her jet and all junkets are stopped.

I think you guys are missing my point. I know he picked "the wrong bill" but obama said NONE should be passed until they are paid for!(its in the video) I just think its laughable that Bunning stood up for the no pay no go, and the folk that thought it was such a good idea in February just acted like it did not exist.

you just don't understand how the game is played.  1. vote for great sounding ideas :pay as you go; finical reform; deficit reduction; etc, then  2. pass every reckless spending bill you can find giving away and wasting as much money as possible. reelection time 3. tell everyone how you voted and got the bills in no 1. passed . ignore the no.2 and hope nobody notices.

Did you notice how the lame stream media got all indignant that the Congress didn't abide by their own rule.  That's right--it didn't happen.  If pay-go were a Republican thing and the Republicans were ignoring it, the media would be all over it.

Everyone should understand that the lame steam media is really the Obamedia and in a very real way, they are as much responsible for the mess this country is in as any other factor.  Without an independent and aggressive media, the clueless masses will never get involved enough to turn things around.

The dems. made a big deal about this like Bunning was stopping all the unemployed from getting their money, when they were the ones that were the problem. Bunning made several attemps to make the deal work but the Dems wanted it to come to a head to make the republicans look uncaring and selfish!

And the State run media took it and ran with it for them!

I'm not sure if this can be isolated to a single party, it seems to me no matter who is in office , they all abuse the system.

Media favortism of the Obama administration is in fact an isolated event ... no administration has enjoyed the blanket media protection he has, regardless of party. But that makes sense when you look at his donor base.
