To each his own about owning a SS or a Heritage. I own the Ruger and along with several others would like to clear up this misconception about them being inaccurate. Mine will drive tacks with the 22 LR cylinder but is very picky about 22 Mag ammo. I've owned 5 Single Sixes over the last 30 years or so and all were very accurate.

I do have to step in here again for a moment.  I have owned several single six's, and they have all been accurate.  Not quite with a bull barrel Ruger auto, but still very good.  As for the Heritage, it seems to be an inexpensive copy of the Colt Scout with a safety added to keep the Fed's happy.  Actually, I believe that Colt added the same safety in the last couple years of Scout production.  As for the Heritage, my only complaint was he heavy hammer pull, which is easily corrected.  There doesn't seem to be a quality issue with them, just the fact that they are not as 'smooth' as they could be.  I believe they would make a fine 'knock around' revolver with just a little smoothing up.  Keep shooting!  44 Man

Well I took the plunge and decided to go with a EAA Bounty Hunter 4 3/4 inch blue 22lr/22Mag.
It's a pretty nice looking little pistol. I won the auction on Gunbroker.com for $259. Now comes
the waiting. :)

i am not trying to add grief to a beaten subject but i owned one with a 6.5 in barrel and adjustable sights.   i could never get any kind of accuracy out of the mag cylinder.  my biggest complaints was that the adjustable rear sight was extremely sensitive,  would not hold zero and the adjustment screws were very brittle.   more than vertical adjustment screw head broke doing normal adjusting, other than the sight issue accuracy with 22 lr ammo was ok but not squirrel accurate to 25 yds.  i traded that gun off but not for another 22

I had one once about 15yrs. ago. It was OK as a 'can' shooter (only pop can accurate at 25yd) but for a lot of people, thats fine. The thing just didnt give me the 'keep me' message, and I doubt I will get another one as I prefer real steel.
Shop around and take your time. I think you can get a lot better price and I wouldnt pay more just because it has an extra 22WMR cylinder.

Rugers are beter to be sure, They also cost twice or nearly twice the price. 

One thing I will give the ruger is I like the fact it has a transfer bar. this is somthing to consider.
who wants to use a safety on a revolver ? it just dosnt seem right.

you will notice most who own a rr like them. most who dont disparage them. who ya gonna believe?

are these better than the cimarron plinkerton or not? at least the cimarron is a uberti.
