Marlin 7000
« on: February 12, 2010, 02:46:02 PM »
About month ago I traded up a Marlin 7000, I hadn't shot it untill today, this gun really shoots good, at 25 yd you can cover five shots with a dime and at 50 1 1/2" group.  This is with some Remington Golden Bullets HP's, just some stuff I picked up.  My main thought was to see if it cycled and funtion ok and it did fine.  Any of you all have or had a 7000?  Also anything can be done to the crapy plastic trigger?  Thanks,
Joe

I bought a Marlin 7000 new and I love it.  I have won 2 club contests with it.  Diversified Innovative Products sells an adjustable trigger, trigger guard, and charging handle for this gun...all of which I bought and installed myself.  Really firms up the feel of the gun and the trigger is a great improvement.  I think I spent about $125 for everything.  I am trying to find a new stock for it right now.

Just received and mounted a red-white & blue laminated stock for my Marlin7000.  Bought it on EBay from someone in the Northeast.  Said it was for a 7000T but it fit perfectly.  Came with a rubber adjustable butt pad, but with no mounting hardware.  I think I will bypass the "adjustable" part and just mount the pad permanently.  Looks great.  Anxious to take it out to the range to give it a try.

I had a Marlin 7000 with the bull barrel. It was a nice little gun, ok for blinking. The trigger on it was just horrible and after looking  into the problem I concluded that there was no good fix for the trigger, so I sold it and upgraded to a CZ 455, now I have a nice crisp 2lb pull trigger. I sold the 7000 for 175.00 then if you figure in the 125.00 for the trigger upgrade for the 7000 that’s 400.00, my CZ455 was 400.00 and there’s NO comparisons between the two.
