Barrel fitting, please confirm my thinking
« on: February 02, 2010, 06:08:07 AM »
Just received a stub I bought for a project.  .410 barrel that's been cut off and de-milled, going on a 2004 rifle receiver.

Locks up with a nice click.  No visible top gap.  Locks up with aluminum foil.  Latch lever has good movement when locked up both with and without aluminum foil. Will not lock up with a post it note.  No side to side play at all.  I think I'm good to go, but would feel better with your input.

Should I play the lottery today?

:)

It sounds good, but none of that matters until you install the new barrel and finish off the breach end.  Larry
A gun is just like a parachute, if you ever really need one, nothing else will do.

Larry, what's likely to change?  This is for a smokeless muzzle loader if that makes a difference. Breech face of stub will be left as is.
