This isn't a simple spanking.  As Sourdough alludes to, she will be very, very badly scared and possibly handicapped as a result of this.  Western society has been guilty of this too.  The Salem Witch trials, the Spanish Inquisition, or various medieval methods (for example, it was not uncommon for someone in medieval Europe, when accused of a crime, to have their hands set afire, and then bandaged.  the thought was that God would not allow harm to come to an innocent, so if when they unwrapped the hands a few weeks later if they were scarred or damaged, then obviously the person was guilty).  The unfair punishment being doled out to this girl is a result of Muslim Sharia Law.

All these things are good examples of why religion - of any type, has no place in the government and most especially in the court of law.

This girl would not have been able to buy the phone by herself.
Somebody in her family gave it to her.
She and any other adult would have known that it was forbidden to have the phone in school and what the punishment  would be.

You break the rules over there you will have consequences.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However we're not talking about a little smack on the behind
or even a "Whoopin'" here. This is a severe beating of a child for taking a cell phone to school.
The punishment hardly fits the crime in most people's eyes. I'm not sure if you have kids, but
if you do, how would you feel if that was your daughter getting a beating by a couple of animals
with sticks 90 times in front of her classmates. That kid will never live that down. It's 7th century
behavior that has no place in today's world. And they call us "infidels". What a bunch of scumbags.

I'm not saying I condone a brutal beating of a "child" but we must not get our bleeding hearts to strung out here. And I am not a muzzie supporter at all. but this girl was not punished for mere cell phone use:

She had assaulted her headmistress after being caught with the gadget which is banned in girl schools

You can say what you want but she could have avoided a beating in this situation. She could have behaved.  Seems they take obedience a little farther than the west does. There is a  question in my mind that "This" country is very lax where dealing with bad behavior is concerned. NO I do not think 90 lashes is appropriate and punishment should be dealt out humanely and universally but there should be an attempt to hold juveniles accountable for their actions. The Dr Spock methods used here dont seem to work well.

caneing and such punishments are very popular in Asian cultures as well as with the Muslims. Just make sure that you understand excactly what it is.

while christiany is full of barbaric acts over the centuries christians did change and disavowed those types of punishments. the radical muslims never changed and if given the chance will impose their will and their way of life on you. if they find they can not get you to submit then they will simply kill you and all members of your family. make no mistake they mean what they say and their actions show the world just what they are all about.

How rules/laws are enforced in other countries are certainly beyond our control, however, as a nation we certainly should voice are disapproval of rulings like this.  This is barbaric and doesn't meet the crime.  Teens certainly can be disrespectful and defiant.  And today's American parents tend to defend their kids rather than punish them again if they found out their kid got in trouble like the old days.   I confess to  having difficulty understanding some Middle Eastern Muslim values like sharia .

That's the point I tried to make with this post Redtail1949. You can't tell someone in another country how to
raise their kids. They are going to do what they do no matter what anyone says. All I'm saying is these people
are animals. They especially treat women and young girls like garbage all they while claiming that they are so
holy in God's eyes and the rest of us are going to hell because we just don't get it. They are sick!

For all of you whov say this is not our buisiness and shpuld leave them to their own ways no matter how barbaric.  I have this to say, have you ever seen a flogging like they speak of here? I have it is horrendous and disfiguring. The whip they use on them slices them open and leaves horrible scars. I won't go into details but when I and 3 other US soldiers witnessed a flogging we took action, because wrong no matter where in the world is still WRONG. What we did certainly caused an international incident, but even Stormin Norman backed us all because we were in the right 100%.


If you support a cultures right to do heinous things to their people you are a sick bunch of animals and deserve no quarter.

God bless you Billy for what you and your fellow soldires did to stop that flogging. I don't think a lot of
people realize what actually happens during these sick events. Don't get me wrong. If it was a child molester or a murderer then I say whip them 1000 times until they are dead then whip them some more. But some trivial thing like this? Come on Man! We are talking a 13 year old child here.
