Haiti by deeds instead of words
« on: January 16, 2010, 01:42:02 AM »
I guess I must not care about the Haiti situation. I haven't read more than headlines because they were conspicuous, and I've tended to tune out when talk of it was on radio news. I don't look for any information on it.

(But it is comforting to know that Haiti can get into the news for something other than a coup d'etat.)

Before this whole ordeal is over with, it will have been cheaper to buy the whole danged place and put all of their poopulation on welfare.  We're going to pay for it, but we won't own it.  Well, maybe China will actually pay for it and maybe they will own it.  We are merely the purchasing agent.

I don't believe China has any interest in it. The country has no natural resources and the the labor there is of poor quality. At least when China goes someplace they have good sound reasons for doing it. You can't fault them for that.

The Southern States should secede from the union and send thier State Guards and take all the independent countries in the Carribean includeing any Mexican posessions, South American Islands and Cuba. Then they could bulldoze them clean and build the worlds greatest, safest and cleanest tourist resort. Everyone that wanted to work for the resorts could have a job. If they didn't want to work, send them to Cal-i-forn-i-a. Due and proper credit for the basic concept of this plan must be given to Brother Dave Gardner.  (Haley Barber would probably support this!!)  ;D

That would be funny except that some folks actually feel entitled to do
that.

At this point I am like Questor, I dont need to see the carnage, I kow its there and seeing it wont help! I see no need to learn more. Its bad, we are helping and rubbernecking is in poor taste.  8)
