Barrel In The Closet
« on: January 12, 2010, 04:25:28 PM »
Hey guys, I have a .22 Mag barrel sitting in my closet for a NEF "Sportster" model SS1, but no longer have the frame with the original .22 LR barrel that the Mag barrel was paired with.

I know this barrel was factory fitted on the original frame.  It that a one shot deal, or can this barrel be used on another Sportster frame?

It may or may not fit, the only way to know is try it, see the barrel fitting info in the FAQs and Help sticky for help in making sure of a good fit.  ;)

Thanks Quick.  Didn't think to search for something there.  I'm not a regular here - spend most of my time in the Black Powder forums.

What happened was I traded the Sportster with the .22 LR barrel on it to a guy for a muzzle loader.  I hadn't used it in years and totally forgot about the .22 Mag barrel.  But it was a chance encounter and I haven't been able to locate the guy again.

I have a couple of Sportsters in .22 Mag, but IIRC, and just in case you ever decide you are not going to get another rimfire frame, there was a member that just recently that posted a WTB (want to buy) for a Sportster barrel in .22 Mag in the H&R section. Best of luck....<><....:)

Andy you might be referring to the member in the Want to Trade (WTT) looking to trade stuff to get a .22 mag Sportster full rifle http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,191859.0.html

Or I s'pose he could have an ad in both WTT & WTB categories..

Anyway Semisane, if you do decide to sell the 22 mag barrel, I'm interested in it.

Cheers
