Model 14-3 Single Action Only
« on: January 11, 2010, 02:28:28 AM »
Several years ago I traded for a used Model 14-3 revolver, S/N - 8K841XX, in excellent condition.  It has the wide target hammer and trigger, and functions in single action only.

I've searched the internet for information on Model 14's, and they all appear to fire in both single action and double action modes.  I'm wondering what I have?

S&W made a limited number of single action only Model 14s many long years ago when target shooting with revolvers was still in fashion. I have owned one of them myself but sold it long ago. To the best of my knowledge the fellow I sold it to who was sort of a friend of a friend still owns and shoots it.

Thanks guys.  I'm glad to know I have something a little bit out of the ordinary that S&W collectors might take an interest in.
