collectors question
« on: January 10, 2010, 12:51:03 PM »
I was over at cabelas today (lacey washington),  and I noticed that they had a remington model 722 Cal. 300 sav. (a bit over 300. bucks if anyone is interested).  I looked at the bolt shroud and it is the same as on my Model 700 Varmit .  I have never seen another M700 with a 722 shroud.  any collectors out there have any idea when remington ran out of 722 parts for Model 700 bolts?

Thanks for any wisdom on this.

I may not be making sense.   I just meant to ask about bolt shrouds and time lines.  My model 700 is different than everyother one I have seen.  the rear of the bolt, the part the stiker protrudes from is the same as on the earlier Remington Model 722, which of course is the short action version of the Model 721.

For example Early Winchester model 70's can be found with Model 54 Parts on them. As the Model 54 was the predicessor to the model 70  in the same way the Model 721 and the short action 722 are the predicessor to the model 700.

Please forgive my spelling, i have that thing where you transpose letters and numbers, but is looks right to me.  Please bear with me.

thanks
