I received a Marlin cataloge in the mail and it makes no mention of the 1894P model which is a 44mag in a 16.25" barrel guide gun is this no longer available? This would be my first lever gun and the short barrel appeals to me. What would one expect to pay for this or similar?

There may still a few out there in the supply chain somewhere but you're really going to need to search long and hard.   Good luck.

Thanks for your input, my local gun shop found one for me, like brand new (aren't they all) really no markings on the stock, or finish, has been fired but very little. As this is my first lever I was surprised at how small it is. How hard is it to take down for travel, like suit case for air travel?
Need to do some research on sights as guys with trifocals don't do well with front to rear focus.

I should have explaned that I have a hardcase I use for Handguns and camera's that is lockable and was wondering if this would work. Thinking about it we can't lock them now either. Hmmm need to check this out.
