I asked the same question on another forum. I asked about the shinny reflection in the woods with it. But I guess if you hunt in the rain or it's a drizzly day the SS model will pay off. Someone reported on another site that it takes a bit more to break in the barrel being stainless steel. I would like to see one on the shelf somewhere. What's the going rate on this model?

Well On the 25th I held one at Gander Mountain. They were asking 449.00 but a guy could probably find some reason to talk them down a bit.

I have several rifles with the Black-T finish which is great for SE Alaska's rain & saeawater climate.  I have often thought the ticket would be to get a stainless rifle and have it teflon finished.  That would be the ultimate in a wet-weather gun!

I just buy the inexpensive camo tape, and wrap the gun before the hunt.  It protects the surface from my clumsiness, stops the "shine," and comes off easily!
