Are the short mags still not getting full velocity in the Tikka's? I am looking at buying a t3 in 300 wsm and dont want to get one and not be able to reach the full potential of the round.

I don't know what you are referring to. I had a T3 Lite chambered in 300WSM (my son has it now) and it shot 165 grain handloads at 3000 ft/sec which was the same velocity as my friends Browning A-bolt in this caliber.

I recall reading some discussion on that subject with a lot of data presented. Since it is a long action, my advice would be to get the real deal (i.e., 7mm, 300, 338). Why bother, you can load down or full power as you see fit.
