760 mags in semi-autos
« on: October 21, 2003, 06:29:26 AM »
Does anyone but me use Remington pump mags in Remington semi-autos?  I started doing that when I got sick of the bolt release lever/button on my 742 mags making all kinds of racket when loaded.  I started using 760 mags, and haven't looked back since.  The pump mags work fine, and since you still have to drop the bolt on the semi when using the proper mags before removing the mag, it makes changing mags that much faster (for those hard to kill deer  :)    )

I'm just wondering if this is a more common practice than I realized...

I did that with my 742's from the mid-'70's 'till I quit using the guns.  The only time the auto mag got into the gun was when I was cleaning it.
Hunting is Exciting!  Bolt actions are BORING!!
Don't mix the two!
