The chamber is long enough to take a 410 shell so it will chamber either round... 410 or 45LC. The 45 is much shorter so there is alot of freebore which hurts accuracy somewhat. The barrel is rifled and has the same twist rate as the standard 45LC barrel but the last couple of inches at the muzzle is bored and threaded for a choke tube. The choke tube is needed when you are shooting 410 shells to stop the shot from spinning out of the barrel. You have to take the choke tube out when shooting 45LC bullets though. There is a bead only for sighting but the barrel is plenty thick enough to be drilled and tapped for scope mounts. (mine is drilled and tapped). The barrels really are a compromise... the 45LC's won't shoot as well as the standard rifle barrel and the 410's probably won't shoot as well as a standard 410 smoothbore barrel. :-\ But for something to play around with they are fun. I have one in the WTT section if you are looking for one.

Still haven't done it, but I'm gonna try loading some 460 S&W brass with Ruger level loads (45 colt) and see what that does to accuracy.  Gotta get mine drilled and tapped first, won't be able to tell much with the bead sight. :P  DP
