Speer Flat Nose SP/cann (218 Bee) 46 grain for .223
« on: November 14, 2009, 05:36:58 PM »
I purchased some Speer 46 g FN to try out in my .223.  Has anyone had any experience with these pretty little bullets in their H&R?  Also are their any recommended light loads for this bullet?

14.0 grs. of IMR 4227 is a good place to start. The only thing I didn't like about this bullet si how short it is, made putting one on top of a case with my fat fingers a chore. Years ago I bought a thousand of those bullets for $24., ahh the good old days. Velocity is around 2500 fps.

I have IMR3031 and 4320.  Any suggestions?
