I've been getting interested in 12 ga. again, and I have some questions.
Shopping online I found some slugs made by Federal. They are the Premium Power Shock 12 ga. 1 oz. slugs.
One is the F127ss, and goes 1450 fps.
The other is the F127rs, and goes 1610 fps.
Now, with only a difference of 160 fps between them, the price difference is just over $6.00.
Why is that?
I also have a couple buckshot questions.
1. What is "buffered" shot?
2. Would no. 4 buckshot be effective on feral dogs, cats, and wild turkeys?
I would be putting the buckshot through a Win. mod 12, with a 28in barrel and a full choke. I did pattern it using some 00 buckshot at 30 yds and am confident it would do the job on dogs. (both 4 AND 2 legged) Just curious about using the #4 buckshot.
I do NOT fire slugs through that model 12. I have a 1200 Defender for those.
