I'm a little confused....
« on: November 14, 2009, 08:00:58 AM »
I read the FAQ's and saw that you could fit a .357 or .44 mag barrel to an SB1 frame.  Will H&R do this through the barrel accesory program, or will I have to find a used one and fit it myself?  Also, I would assume that the .357 max would be a no no on an SB1 frame.  Is my assumption correct?

H&R will fit them to SB1 frames made since 1987, whether the Max will work depends on the primers used, most work fine, some have had primer issues tho, so you need to be aware that just any load may not work due to the larger firing pin and hole in the breech face of the SB1 shotgun frame.

Tim, you are just a wealth of Handi info aren't you.  Thanks for the answer.  I believe I'll just send it in for a .44 barrel for the heavily wooded creek bottom that we have.
