Rem R 25 in 308

Has anyone shot or owned and shot, or knows someone who shot one of these Remingtons.

Wondering about accuracy! Do they shoot good groups? Would you recommend one?

I got one about a month ago.  Took my first deer with it yesterday.  I really like the AR frame because of the light recoil.  All I have shot throught it so far is factory remington ammo.  I have a bushnell 4x scope on it right now so I have not shot it longet than fifty yards.  With 180 psp its shooting one ragged hole at fifty yards.  Hope this helps, I really like mine and its my primary whitetail gun now.

Well, boy howdy, for a while there i thought i was the only person in the world to buy one!

I have had the same experience with short range groups.(180 gr Fed sp) I only have metal sights on mine right now, I haven't decided on a scope for it yet. I did put the flip up/down post and peep on it so that I can have them in a pinch but it shoots purty good at short range with those. Now I thought that the trigger was not bad for a semi auto outa the box, mine was crisp. how was yours?

Overall I'm impressed with the rifle and plan to "excercise it"  in da woods soon!  ;)

if Ohio or PA would allow me to hunt big game with a semi auto rifle I'd have had one when they were introduced. I still want one and may use tax refund towards it. Good to see people around here are buying them  ;D

also would like to know, advantages or comparison to the new 760  thinking about .243  In Illinois it would be mostly varmint with it .  can larger capacity mag be used or obtained for both ?

I do know the AR platform carried one around long enough, but at half the price what about the 760 ?

thanks

Seen a few of the new Remmy ARs.  Seem to shoot well enough, couple of the guys shooting them didn't inspire enough confidence for me to say that the rifle could be at fault for any lack of accuracy.

I'd expect in the neighborhood of MOA with match ammo/handloads, maybe a bit more with hunting ammo for a reasonable expectation.  Isn't it just a re-badged Bushmaster (can't remember at the moment)?

Its either Bushmaster or DPMS, both of which are excellent brands so its a no brainer the ones with the "R" stamped on them will be great additions to ones safe.
