Health care bill: Who didn't they listen to?
« on: November 09, 2009, 04:06:04 AM »
Have we really come to the point where most Americans want the government to take over health care? Many of us conservatives say that Congress and the president aren't listening. But are they really listening and doing what most people want?

Questor, why should they listen. The American voter has given them no incentive whatsoever to listen. The Democrats take a turn, then the Republicans take a turn. Everyone in D.C. is on rotation. They take turns, and they know that the American voter will never change from voting the lessor.
My friends that voted Obama, all said the same thing. We wanted something different. And when everyone votes the lessor of again, in 2010, it will be because "they want something different" even though it will actually be the same.

DEMOCRAT=SOCIALISM!         REPUBLICAN=SOCIALISM LITE!        SSDD!

I believe this is a culmination of several factors.  I actually believe, and opinion polls will back this, that most Americans DO NOT want government run health care.  But an overwhelming majority of Americans realize that the current system is neither sustainable or logical.  Simply put, this has come to pass because there are real problems and no one other than the current congress/administration has made a major sucessful effort to address them.  Unfortunately that congress/administration is democratic and liberal, thus their answer is more government, more taxes, and more laws.

If this bill is ultimately defeated, either in part or whole, IT WILL BE BACK.  Calling names and generally trying to debase the opinions of those you disagree with will not make the problems in our current system go away.  Costs will rise, problems will magnify, and perhaps next time it will be a single-payer system...  I hope it is defeated and in 2010 Republicans make headway in the house and senate, AND THEN ADDRESS THE PROBLEM.  Ignoring it will help create a socialist state.  Denying it exists will help create a socialist state.  Calling the president and liberal congress names (without saying anything constructive) will help create a socialist state.  It's time for conservatives to be pro-active on this... or rather, I hope by 2010 it will be time...

The two parties just take turns sharing the power, even if the Dems get voted out, they will be back in when the people get mad a the way things are going at some point and vote the others back in.

What this tells me is there are many ignorant people out there beholden to a major party and always getting the same deal in the end.

And ignorant is not a bad word...stupid is bad word to use.  I was ingnorant for years, I admit it.  Not anymore. Some say by voting for the third party in major elections you actually get the worst of the worst, but I bet some people could be forced into the third party if things stay like they are for another bunch of years.  They would have no choice but to switch to a third party if we drained enough votes from them often enough for them to be losers for a very long time.  I've heard sopme say they will never ever vote for a third party no matter what.  I bet if they suffer long enough they will.  Sometimes you just have to lose a whole bunch before you make a move.

I could see many republicans doing third party after many years of suffering and getting nowhere.  Sooner or later it will dawn on them in order to win anything at all...they have to leave their SOCIALISM LITE party and join the other conservatives.

You third party and independent voter guys put this in your pipes and smoke it for a while.

IF you get a third party and maybe even an independent party going with a viable candidate the winner of the election will probably be someone with about 30 % support( probably less) and will probably be not your guy! So 70 % of the american people will be hating life rather than the 48% that usually are after the election. And that dont sound like democracy to me!

As far as the Insurance thing goes it aint about Insurance its about control, Get it?  They dont care what we say or think,#1. #2 its like Dee said, we aint teaching them to care!

There are not enough jails to put all the people into that will not buy insurance for whatever the reason. Many just plain ain't got the money to do it. For damn sure they aren't gonna force the illegals or the blacks too sorry to work to buy it they will have theirs paid for by the rest of us. No penalties will be imposed on any of them.

If this doesn't force an armed rebellion then quite honestly nothing can with the folks currently alive in this country but then that's what I've been saying for years it will take many generations living under this for the type of folks needed to be born and realize what they must do. Folks alive today haven't suffered enough to do what's needed and won't live long enough to do so.

We should call all the politicains who vote yes on this all sorts of category names. Calling them names will generate media interest. Call them Nazi's, Communists, Socialists, Marxists, Castro lovers, Chavez Lovers, etc and any other category name that brings limelight to the issue.

Blacks in detroit don't buy auto insurance not let alone health insurance. They will enforce it by no tax return when you file taxes.

Many of those who won't buy it also don't file income taxes.
