I have a thing to shoot ,22 mag out of a .223, got it from a guy in Alaska, it's a .223 case that takes a .22 mag, works fine. I think it cost about $20.00,  If you're interested I'  can send you the particulars.

MCA sports makes the old Marbles adapters.  The one for the .22Mag in 223 will work only in a Contender.  They don't list one with an offset plug.
If I agreed with you then we would both be wrong.

Great for contenders with the rimfire select; had an offset plug version in an encore .223, not as handy.
Got 'em for .357 and .44 in 12ga and 20ga too. Handy!

I used a .22lr adapter with a 12" .223 Rem barrel Encore, and it shot steel just as accurately as a 10" barreled .22LR barrel, out to 100 yds, standing using iron sights. Short leap to the lands I guess, maybe slightly more than in a revolver, but its not for bullseye competition of course. It'll shoot minute of squirrel all day.
