Reeder African Hunter
« on: November 04, 2009, 11:17:26 AM »
This is the one that was found with no box and no documentation in the Atlanta USPS distribution center...  Through the BATFE and the help of Gary Reeder we got it back...

It had been shipped to me FFL to FFL from Texas..... It was found with no box and no papers on a conveyer belt in Atlanta...  The Postal Inspector contacted the BATFE who then contacted Reeder...  Reeder posted a message on his forum asking if anyone had shipped one... The  fellow who shipped it to me saw Reeder's post...  Pretty much a miracle that we got it back...

Well that is a beautiful gun and now you got a great story to go with it.
It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.

I'm surprised that the BATF didn't want to confiscate it just because it was found with no papers showing that it was being shipped ffl to ffl.  44 Man

No doubt in my mind....   Been spending a little time on Reeder's forum and developing a new respect for him and his hardware.   Not to say that I don't find some of the etching tastless but like so many things that is in the eye of the beholder and the gun owner's choice....
