Thanks for all the replies.Whow!!!
This site seemed to go down yesterday arvo.
Anyways
After a about 4 tries to get silver solder to stick the pin back on..(wouldn't stick for some reason)
I ended up drilling a hole pretty well cntrer through the stub part.
Took an 'ol low speed dentist burr and used that as pin material. Silversoldered than in place then ran it though the drill like a lathe and got it down to size. didn't harden it back up but the steel annealed buy the heat seemd to be ductile but strong.
See how it fares..I aready put it back together.

I measure 0.037-0.038" protusion of the piring pin when fitted.
Is this about the right

Sets of a primer o.k. but have no old fired shells unprimed to eye ball any differnce. Seemed nice and round but.
Pic of the blighter roughed out.

May need some drill stock.
Rather make one than buy one as it only makes one more confident of keeping things going if things fail in the feild in the next 20 years if'n I done'd it right like
