Still riding?
« on: November 01, 2009, 04:59:51 PM »
Is everybody still riding or did everybody put there scooters up already. Me, the only time my sporty has sat for more than 2 day was while I was in Colorado for 10 day a week ago.

November is no time for motorcycles in Northern Wisconsin. The Fatboy is winterized.

Mine has been sitting for the last 6 weeks since I'm in georgia and my bike is in alaska.

I really think the season is over in alaska from what I'm hearing from friends. But as long as there is no snow or ice I may get to sneak in a ride here and there.

Latest from friends is fresh snow on the mountains but none in the village. So maybe  ;D  I'll be home thursday, and boy am I happy! I've enjoyed all the jawja fun I can stand. I'm ready to get back to our 3car trafic jams in the village.

Oh I enjoy the people, food, & my family. I just don't like the traffic.

And I'm used to a lot slower paced life. But then I've never done well in big cities.

I think the same thing every morning when I get on I-75 at Barrett Parkway and drive down to Atlanta!   ::)

Friday 74 and Saturday 77  Sunday drops back to 70 damn the cold front.  Still crossing our fingers for the nice dry weather we are having. Only problem with riding is the deer. They are chasing like crazy. We have had atleast 3 mc fatalities with deer in the last week in SE OK that I know of.  Ride safe my friends.

I haven't heard of any deer vs. mc crashes lately here in ne Kansas, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Weather has been great here in Topeka, I have been riding all week. sounds like it is going to get colder in the next week though. Guess I will just have to bundle up a little tighter.

Rode the KLR in to work this morning. It was 41 and it's only like 15 miles so nothing very heroic. Be a nice ride home but ya gotta look out for bambi here in Northern WI. It did feel good to throw a leg over.

Cheers

Good for you. I hope that you made a little money on that double dare. When you got up this morning to leave the house it was 40 degrees out.

Yup, a high of 55 today. My co-worker with the RK and myself went on a hard, fast ride after work today. Seemed like summer time. So much fun. Good times. We meet at the stop lights and laughed over and over.  Riding hard but being safe.

Sunday the low was 58 and by 1 pm when I was free to go I it was 70. Temp stayed in the mid 60s well past dark all the way home. Met some friends for a beer and we left out for another destination. The afternoon drained fast and the dark moved in. 247 miles later I pulled into the driveway at 7:45. Good day of riding with the buds.

Two more down hitting a deer on cycles around here. One was on a tryke in the State park and it caused a endover onto him dang. My brother works for the phone company and counted 6 rode kills in a 40 mile stretch west of Ada. Rut is on here guys.

Less than a week here before the guns go off. The bucks are chasing everything they can find. Rode this last Saturday in a t shirt and vest but the weather has changed to a winter start now. Rain and high 30's with a little wind for kicks. Have made my mind up to use the new H&R sluggun opening day. Need to blood it and it is only a 300 yrd walk to the tree stand with that wheelless canon. Got the 45-70 and .45 long Colt on standby ready to jump into the fight.
I actually saw a doe chasing a 6 point buck Saturday like she was in the rut. Stopped on the road and watched for a couple of minutes while she chased him in a green patch.

I rode in the Toys for Tots ride here in Topeka last sunday, then turned around and on monday rode to Kansas City to do a Patriot Guard mission for a 20 year old Marine Lance Corporal who died in Afganastan. It was 20 degrees when I kicked the kickstand up. God I wish I had a good set of leathers.

Jumpsteady what size is your young arse anyway? The wife and I have not yet been out for awhile, last week it was not bad at all but I was coming down with that flu going around the country side. We have ridden in 20 degree weather but that was not near as much fun let me tell yeah. Good thing we both have a full facesheild on our helmets. I have a good notion just to winterize the bike for the rest of this year. ;D

Not really sure how to answer that. I wear a large leather jacket but the sleeves are a little short. Never tried on a set of chaps, so I don't know what size I would wear, but I wear 34 X 34 jeans. Hope that is what you were asking. And your right, 20 degrees is not fun at all. I only have a half helmet, so I just tied a bandana around my face and tucked in behind the windshield on my Sporty. But I rode in the 20 degree weather for the a young man who died so I have to freedom to go out and ride when I want. And I won't winterize my bike, to much good work still to do this year.
