Buffalo Classic Carbine - 45 Colt Sight Problem
« on: November 01, 2009, 12:27:07 PM »
I have installed a Williams WGRS peep sight on my Classic Carbine in 45 Colt and the front sight is already the .570" height recommended by Williams. My problem is the point of impact with the rear sight as far to the rear as possible is still 15" high at 50 yards. I haven't been able to find a dovetail sight taller than .570". I do not want to scope this rifle and the factory sights do not appeal to me so where do I go from here?

That's good for about a 200 yd. zero ain't it?  :D
Just messin' with you.
What is the difference in height between the original rear and the WGRS rear sight?
I'd say you would need sights that are near to the height of the originals.
Just a guess on my part. :-\

Maybe try skinner sights

Front Sights

I make front sights to order. I make the ramp mounted standard height at .450" as measured from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the sight. The barrel mounted front sight is standard at .650".  I will make them any height the customer wants. They are simple to shorten with a flat file since they are a post sight. I make the blade standard at .050" wide, but I will make them any width the customer wants.”

Price: $11 which includes shipping and handling .

Get the Williams dovetail riser shown in the FAQs in the Sights section.

Try this:
Try to look unimportant.   Your enemy might be low on ammo.
