Remington Peerless

Does anyone here own one? I just purchased one in mint condition and hoped people had good luck with them.

Used to own one but sold it. I shot it well enough but just gave up on the 12 ga as too much recoil for my shoulder which needs surgery in the worst way.

Well I have shot this gun some and really like it.I bought it used with the thought of seeing if I would like an o/u in the future.I was gonna buy a real inexpensive one to try and saw this and thought for a little more just get something made by a name brand co.I am surprised this gun didn't catch on it has alot of good features to it.

I recently drooled over one at Gander Mountain in Peoria Il. but, have no experience with them. Would of bought this one(on the spot) if finances were in better shape.

I have had mine now for 3 years and bought it from my brother who bought it new.He went to sxs and I havent regretted buying it.mine is a field model with 26" barrels.I use it for upland and sporting clays.2 issues with it,will not reliably shoot remington shells,and if you fire the top barrel first,the safety will reset after the shot.But if you fire the bottom barrel first,it works just fine.The fit and finish are very good,and despite the negative comments I have heard about them,I cannot complain.I dont know how many rounds my brother shot thru it,but I shot about 2000 rounds thru it myself.Enjoy your peerless

Papurich,I have only put a couple hundred rounds through this one and so far so good.It is a 28'' model and I have shot a little trap with it.These guns have some good features as far as changing the auto safety and the extractors to ejectors and vice versa.My manual shows you can take the sideplates off also to really get in there and clean it out and do the safety changes also.You would spend top dollar now to get an o/u with these features.I was a little leary buying an out of production o/u but for what I paid you would have to buy one out of the 500 dollar group now.And I think this will be fine with good care.

Most places are selling them closer to the thousand dollar range now.The first time I shouldered this gun,it just felt right.I cant say that I shoot great with it,but I average 35 out of 50 at sporting clays,and do pretty well with grouse and pheasant.The recoil is much lighter than my stoeger,and I have introduced several young people to shooting with it.When my daughter was 16,the first time on the s/c course,she smoked 10 birds and was able to shoot the full 50 rounds without shoulder pain.I hope you enjoy yours for many years to come,I know I sure will.

Interesting, Wisconsin's prices seem to be more moderate than here in Illinois for these guns? Haven't seen one here in central Illinois for under $1750 and norm seems to be more like $2000 here.
If the one in Peoria would of been $1000 it would of came home with me, that day!
Thanks "papurich" for at least listing your general location in profile. Many don't and makes it all the harder to judge how pricing is running, in general?

Man those prices seem like they should be for 3200 Rem instead of a 320 peerless.The peerless were getting in the 800-1000 range last I saw on Gunbroker.I paid 700.00 for mine out of a used rack at a Gander Mountain,it was in great shape and I about fell over when they brought out the orig box with manual ,tool for the gun and choke tubes.Keep looking though you'll find a deal.I went through a dry spell for awhile and found that and wouldn't you know 6 weeks later same store they had an 1187 trap used in great shape for 339.00 and I had some store credit.I think they don't like Remingtons   My wife wasn't real impressed LOL
