Which one
« on: October 31, 2009, 07:40:49 AM »
I am concidering a single shot 45 LC rifle. I have a few 45 LC ruger blackhawks and do reload. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money but want something fairly accurate. I have a leupold 2.5 compact i just picked up to mount on it. How are the Handi's or H&R buffallows . New to this need a little advice and teaching.

I think they've stopped making them but a used one should be easy to find.  Like all H&R products they are great.

The BC Carbine 45LC is pretty accurate, mine shot 1½-2" 100yd groups using Lil'gun and either the 250gr Speer GDHP or the 250gr Hornady SST. Never shot factory ammo in it tho, there are numerous posts on it here, use the search to find them. http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php?action=search

The BC Carbine is still in production, they're just out of accessory barrels, they make more money on complete rifles, so for now they don't offer it as an accessory barrel.

My 45 colt shoots 1" groups at 50 yards using the factory semi-buckhorn open sights with a 250 grain Hornady XTP over 9.8 grains of Unique. It's very fun to shoot and is very nice to carry.
