First time waterfowling and having a ball

  Finally gave in to all my buddies and been joining them on a few duck/goose hunts this year, never realized what I was missing. Bought a new Benelli SBE this year, my first actual Left Handed long gun, cant say enough about it.  Heading to No Dak at noon for another round. I'm hooked.

It's the first year I've given in too. They talked me into it for teal season. (I went along for the early goose. I've wanted a goose for a while.)
The main duck hunter told me there wouldn't be any geese at this place. I heard some, he said it was callers. I pointed out four not gliding in the middle of a large group of pelicans and said, those are geese.

We got them to make three passes but my friend was unsure if they were low enough to get a shot. He appologized for not being a better caller.
So I had to get a goose call and get practiced up, and game calling can addict me quick.

My season doesn't start until next weekend. I hope I enjoy it as much as you do.

I have found waterfowling to be one of the most fun, and entertaining forms of hunting!

There is something about getting the chance to shoot more often, as compared to a big game hunt, where you may shoot your gun once in a week, if your lucky!

So far my hunting this year has been restricted to shooting over decoys, for Canada geese in Alberta. I hope to be able to do some duck, and snow goose hunting in the local area, as the populations are supposed to be good this year.

 Good luck!
Shadows grow long, a chill is in the air. Ancient urges prompt us. Instincts wake up, after lying dormant....Time to hunt.
