Remington 700 stainless steel SPS vs. BDL
« on: October 28, 2009, 04:02:01 PM »
Can anyone tell me if there are any differences between the actions on a stainless steel Remington 700 SPS and stainless steel BDL?  Has anyone compared them side-by-side?

I know the stocks are different.  I've been looking for a stainless steel/synthetic .308 BDL without luck.  I'm thinking of dropping a stainless steel SPS action in a synthetic BDL stock.  Before I go down that road, I was curious to know what the differences were between the two stainless steel actions.

Thanks, in advance, for any input.

Remington 700 actions are the same other than action length.  Just make sure that you are swapping a SA out for a SA, LA for a LA etc... you will be fine.

There is also the ADL vs. BDL difference, ADL is blind magazine, BDL has the floorplate.  Don't forget about the detachable box magazines as well.
