I have the 223 version of the LTR also with a Jewell trigger and the accuracy is really impressive. Looks like yours is shooting extremely well!

Nice find CCoker. Nice shooting too. I really like the short barrel, especially for the .223, but it would also be great for a .308.

Don't you love that Jewell trigger.  I have one on a Mod 70 and wish I had one on every rifle in the closet.  So sweet.

Nice rig there.  Good job on the Krylon, best thing is if you don't like it you are just a shake 'n spray away from a new pattern.  Jewell triggers are among the absolute highest quality in the market today (just make sure to keep 'em clean as they have a tendency to foul up with crap pretty easily).

For a factory all-around .308, it is hard to beat an LTR, especially for the price.

yep, I love that trigger

and yeah, it's fun to camo paint one, sort of artistic endeavor and personalizes it
and if you don't like, just a can of brake cleaner and paper towels

my 6.8 has held up surprisingly well

Is it just me or is your bipod on backwards...  ;D

Don't have my glasses on at the moment to scrutinize.  Nice paint job.

I don't use a bipod very often, it's on there to be able to paint better and take pics

Is the finish on the LTR better / less prone to rust than the finish on the SPS tactical?

To those of you who have used Krylon on your rifles, do I need to do any special prep work on the stock/ barrel/scope before applying?

Clean and degrease as best you can.  Acetone works well, but may take some of that finish off of your SPS Varmint.  Oh well, you are painting it anyways right?  ;)

Both are prone to rust.  Better look into Cerakote/moly resin/Gunkote/Duracoat (somewhat) to prevent against rust.  The first two are the cat's ass.
