I have painted two using Krylon Fusion paint. Used steel wool and then wiped it down with minerial spirits and painted away. So far it has held up very good.

Just use paint made for plastic(read the label on the can) and have at it. I wash the plastic in warm soapy water and dry first, then paint.

I have been wondering about this as well.
If you do a base coat of Fusion paint can you then follow it up with some regular flat camo paint and have it adhere?
Also, if you use the Fusion paint, will your rifle shoot better with Fusion ammo?

I painted my synthetics with Krylon camo paint and it's tough as nails. I washed the stock set with warm soap and water, let it dry and painted it.
I made up some leaf stencils and did my own camo pattern.
It's been on for a year now and still no flaking or chipping.
