Northern Ontario Bear Double Header
« on: October 12, 2009, 11:11:10 AM »
My son and I both scored this year with black bear. I used a Marlin 45-70 and my son a Remmy 260. I double-lunged mine and did it ever take of.............FAST!!. Don't ever think you can out-run a blackie.....they are nimble as h_ll in the under growth. Mine went about 30 yards and gave the 'death-groan' and died right in front of my stand. Garry Litt at Red Pine Lodge Foleyet Ontario runs a first class hunt with most of the hunters scoring on the first or second day of the hunt. One 'merican chap shot a 500# boar...................straightened out the lift-hook.

Mc, sounds like a great hunt.  I didn't draw a bear tag this year, but I should be good to go next season.

Any of you folks from Ohio, Michigan can get to Foleyet very easily and Gary is set up for American hunters (licenses and all)........as a matter of fact my son and I were the only Canucks hunting...............if you are interested just use google for details.
