I was just wondering what anyone thought of this brand of a fly reel and fly rod and if anyone has any experience with this brand.

I'm really not too familiar with them. What are you going to use it for and what weight/length are you considering?

I went ahead and purchased the Redington Redstart fly rod / reel combo. The rod is a 2 piece, 9ft, 10/11 wt. The reel is the old model Redstart designed for 8/9/10 wt lines. I paid $113.35 for the combo brand new on a closeout deal. I will be using the rod along with my Okuma Integrity fly reel for King salmon on down to the smaller salmon. I took the Redstart fly reel and put it with my 8/9 wt Russian River fly rod and will be using this combo for all salmon, except maybe for Kings.

You got a great deal. I have several friends that have bought and or built some of these. It's a quality brand that is pretty basic in features but you get a good piece at a great price.
