bdestafeno, if you don't mind, where did you get the bullets from and how much were they. I would like to find some myself. :)

Brian, there's a substantial list of cast bullet sources in the Cast Bullet forum down the index page, I've use a lot of Western Bullets which has great prices, you can order them as cast or sized, just contact them for specifics.  ;)

16.5gr of Unique under your bullets should be pleasant to shoot and within the trapdoor range. I shoot a 344gr cast WW with that charge and it chonos at 1364fps.

I have used Oregon Trail's Laser Cast 300gr ($44/250 shipped) with 25gr. 2400 powder for about 1400 fps.(from www.handloads.org) and I've seen loads for this bullet up to 30gr. of 2400.

I've shot Chey Cast 405 and 500grs and they are good bullets.  They come packed in a cool styrofoam tray but they're a bit pricey for me for just plinking.

Bdestafeno ,

From the profile im looking at on thier website of the 300gr .458 projectile , I would think it well capable of more then just plinking ;)
