Just when I think I have a plan...
« on: October 02, 2009, 06:49:42 AM »
Okay, I bought a TC because I wanted the stock and fore arm for my envisioned handy Handi 45-70/410 combo and the pretty case colored action for my 45-120.  But now I like the TC so much I've put it back together and will keep it that way.   :)

So I bought another action but then found a 25-06 barrel for sale and I bought that also!   ::)  Then that action and the 25-06 barrel went together so well I didn't even try the action with the 45-120 barrel!   :-[  So I put the wood from the 45-70 on the 25-06.

Ergo, I'm right back where I was.   ::)  My 45-120 needs an action and my 45-70 needs wood. :(  Well, not right where I was, I do have 2 more Handi's...  :-\

Now, the way I see it, I can buy a Carbine model, keep the action for the 45-120 and the wood for the 45-70, and sell the barrel!  YES!! that's a plan!   8)  No, wait,  :-\  that's how I ended up with a 38-55...  :P

Maybe I'll switch to Rossi's...  ::)

Maybe I'll switch to Rossi's... Yeah.....sure you will. ;D ;D

Buy the .45 LC and sell me the barrel and you keep the rest......O.K.?

After readin this post a couple of times, I begin to realize how sick you and I are, including 90 percent of those who hang out here.

I just agreed to a deal for a sportster in .22 WMR, needing a Red Dot,  and now I'm talking about another barrel.....which of course will need a frame, stock and scope.  Here we go again,.......and again ::) ::) ::)

Yah, I thought I was all lined out till I found the 223 SL barrel in the back of one of the safes ???.  No frame for it unless I can swap SB-1 frame for SB-2 frame to some poor unsuspecting soul. ::)  I'm back home today and just picked up another child from school.  That's 3 kids , wife and I all sharing this crud at the same time.  Ya'll need to invest in Kleenex, cause we're buying it by the case now. :-\  Richard, if ya buy Rossi's, go for the 92 copies, they are nice.  DP

I had second thoughts about this thread.

Richard......go get into Rossis.  Then sell me all your Handi junk at about 30 cents on the dollar and we'd both be very happy. ;D :D ;) ;) :D ;D ;D :D ;)  Well, I'd be, but you wouldn't for long :'( :'( :'(

Seems the trail just gets steeper.  Got parts left over and just can't stand to see them go to waste.  Got 1 green lami stock left, but no fore arm, and nothing to put it on.   Passed up a deal on a Ultra 25-06 for $200 cause I don't have the time to dial it all in.  Oh well, it
will  look good on someone elses  inventory.  Got the 22 MAg all set and now can't find Hornady ammo around here.
Will that bow kill an elk?     Sure.....but arrows are much more effective.

GPR125. there's no Hornady .22 mags here either.  I've got a Sportster.22 mag coming next week and only 5 rounds of ammo. :'(

I've got the front sight off a BC.  Now all I need to go with it is a barrel, receiver, and stocks. ;D

My 22 Mag loves $7.50/box of 50 Dynapoints. Probably the ugliest ammo you will find short of 60 year old com bloc surplus left in a boat bilge, but it shoots.

Plain white box in Walmart. I admit that for $3 more, CCI or Hornady provide much spiffier packaging and bullets that look to feed better in a semi-auto. But it is a fairly accurate hp load in my Sportster.

Course there is some of the 22 Mag stuff from Big Green....probably all loaded by the folks in Idaho anyway, but if it's like the 17 HMR, it probably won't shoot to the same POA anyway.   I have to deal with Big Greenie occassionally and their customer "service" is consistant only in their inconsistancy.   Fortunately, I have other weapon/ammo choices, living in the semi-civilized portion of fly-over country, in the good old US of A.  There are times when we seem to forget that.  Sure glad my old man never made it to the left coast.
