Trying to date my Grandpa's rifle. Its a 340C, .30-30, 22 inch barrel with an uncheckered walnut stock, drilled and tapped by the factory for both scope and aperture sight. She has a mushroom cocking piece and on the barrel, just ahead of the nut, is the SP in an oval and the number 200 in a circle.
I understand that after 1965 they started checkering the stocks.Oh , the magazine release is the flat type not the one that has the tab running parallel to the barrel. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
