Rent?  Just tell me when and I will send it to you NC.  I think you should start making these things, they are dead easy and cheap.  You could make some with rims to use in bolt guns and some like this one to use in break open guns.  30 Carbine could go in lots of chamberings, and I guess there are probably dozens of combinations you could come up with.  From what I have read here the people who are reported to be making these things aren't very interested in actucally selling them, and any time they are mentioned on any of the boards there are hundreds of views.  Larry

The bar stock should be great, could be less work using a barrel because it already has a hole down the middle of it, but that isn't hard to de either.  I finished this one up and fired a few rounds through it.  I have heard primers that make more noise than this does, I fired it out of a S&W I-bolt 25-06, and it went through a Seattle phone book at 5 yards.  I tried a couple of different bore sizes but ended with .254, and it seems good and happy.  Quick will have to find his own "O" ring if he wants one, it works fine without it and just falls out of the chamber, the empty slides right out also.  Tried two different ammo types and both shot.  Good luck, I will put it in the mail in the morning.  The little extractor/removal tool is shown also.  Larry

Yes, it is a fired round in the chamber.  I made this one to headspace on the round being fired and not on the adaptor, I think this will keep from having a problem with tolerance buildup, so there would not be headspace to the adaptor and then the adaptor to the rifle.  Larry

Got the adapter and made did a quick range trip to my basement, target was shot from 6yds, 25-06 Ultra, Burris FFII 3-9x40 set on 3x, aim point is the dot, first shot low right, second low left, last center, the last shot shows signs of keyholing. I was resting over a tripod, so it wasn't the steadiest I can shoot, but would be typical of an offhand shot I suppose, it would be good enough for close small game tho. This is with the ammo that was in Dad's pistol, steel cased stuff, when I get the ammo from Jack I'll shoot it again.

Thanks Larry,  I'd be glad to send the adapter on to someone else if they want to try it in their rifle, if that's Ok with you.

Tim

EDIT: Decided to run a round over the chrono, 767fps, but I dunno what weight bullets these are, 50gr Blazer most likely.

Do whatever you like with it, kind of started off as a joke, but it is fun to see what it does.  Larry

I'll try the other ammo in it to see if it works any better, anyone interested in trying it, particularly if you handload for the 25ACP with some oversize cast, be sure let me know.  ;)

The other ammo didn't help, shot three different loads at 19yds, hit the box the target was stapled to once, it was a keyholed.  :-\ If someone handloads for the 25ACP and would like to try some cast bullets, I'd be glad to send the adapter on to you.
