How to replace front sight on rifled slug barrel
« on: September 14, 2009, 02:10:50 AM »
I bought fiber optic sights for my 500 slug barrel with rifled sights. Can't figure out how the front sight is held in, (looked like a detent in the front so I didn't want to tap it out and screw it up.) Any help???

Receiver end. If it's like mine, you'll see 2 screws on top, almost touchin each other.. Loosen 1 next to sight an push it thru.

Muzzle end.  A set screw is on the very end, down in the hole.

It takes a 3/16" allan to remove. Real little feller.

If your interested, I have a set of fiber optics I just takin off to replace w/a scope. 12.00  TYD.

FYI, that muzzle sight won't take much to break. A spare is a good thing to have. I've broken 2 in the last 10yr.

Thanks gunrak. I tried several allen wrenches and didn't have a fit. I'll pick up a 3/16. I bought the sights awhile ago, match pair to my 50 cal BP. Good setup, it'll be nice to have the same sights on both guns.
