.219 Donaldson - Wasp
« on: August 31, 2009, 03:46:36 AM »
Has anyone chambered the .219 Donaldson-Wasp in a Handi? If so how is it working out? I am not real thrilled with my .243 bull barrel.  I have a highwall in the Wasp and like the round. The highwall will consistently shoot five shot inch groups with three of the five usually under half an inch. It appears that Handis prefer rimmed rounds so maybe I would have better luck with the Wasp?

There are at least a couple of members that have chambered that round. Marv is one I believe and I know Richard (Stimpylu32) is getting one done. I do not know if he has it yet or not. You are not going to be able to go from a 243 to a .224 bore however. You will need to do a stub or do as the others and rechamber a 22 Hornet barrel. I believe the members mentioned above rechambered 22 Hornets. Since you already have a 219 Wasp, you know what you are getting into as far as case forming. Good Luck and Good Shooting

I have not cased formed but bought 200 rounds of brass. It has been sometime back but I think it was from Buffalo Arms. I reload with 29gr. of H-4985 with 50gr bullets. Have not found any accuracy difference on (3) bullet brands but I buy good stuff.
