Skeletonized Synthetic Stock Strength
« on: August 27, 2009, 05:06:18 AM »
My next gun purchase will be a NEF Handi.  The one I really like is the sb2-f22.  Fluted 24" 22-250 with the skeletonized synthetic stock, it looks like a good varmint rig to me.  I notice they only offer this stock option in the .204,.22, and .243.  It made me wonder if this stock would be capable of handling the larger calibers as I'd like to, eventually, get multiple barrels up to and including the 45/70.  I just wanted to know if this stock would be able to handle it? Thanks, JR

Yes, it works fine, several members here have it on big game rifles, Choate makes the same stock style for several firearms other than H&R.

+1.  I have a 308 as well as a 45-70 fitted with my frame and the varmit stock that came with the origianl .223 fluted bull barrel.  No problems.  Of course mine has be "reinforced" with about 3lbs of lead shot in the butt and grip sections! :)
