So which are you? Do you prefer hanging with a bunch of other guys that are into the same things that you are, or would you go it alone?

I voted a little of both. I enjoy going for rides alone at times but I did also enjoy hanging with my bros who unfortunately have either passed or moved away. The friends I have now don't ride.

I do both but I luv to hang with the crew. I like jumping on the sled solo and spinning the bottle or hooking up with the bunch and making a day of it. Like GrimJim I'm losing some of my bunch and not replacing them as fast. Lost one bud this week. He lost his job, wife, kids and then lost all hope. No one heard from him this week then we got the bad word. RIP Billy Billy

Went for a nice fast ride today, by myself. Tommorow I meet a group at the local Kwik Trip @ noon to "hatch a plan". So, it is some of both. I like it that way. 8)

just cant git into the club deal.im slightly antisocial. livin in the stiks does that to yu.i prefer just me and my gfren just rippen down the the hiway to wherever we choose. been on a lot of runs but its like its all in slow motion.i like to go when i want to go and stop when i want to stop.i tend to ride a little fast for most people and then git ripped by everyone for going 45 mph in my truck.cages scare me, i can control a bike but cars scare me.

The group ride was very scenic. Toured the shores of the Mississippi. Stopped at an outdoor cafe for lunch and watched hundreds of motorcycles pass by. Good times.  :)

where'd you stop Cheese? I rode the Mississippi for a while on Sunday myself coming back from the Savannah/Galena area. Did 35 to 171 to 27, then county roads to home.

Wasn't here was it?

Dang yall must be some lonely rascals LOL. It's hard to keep from riding with a crew around here. There are 3 to 4 or more of us together after work all the time here. Wrenching, fixin or just heading out to shoot pool. Not a preferred way just the way it is. If we head out for a rally there may be 10 to 15 head out together and then meet some more there. Not saying it's better, just the way we roll and we take each others back.

I went once to take a tour of the plant. I was going through on the way back from Michigan. They were closed but the lady there let us go into the closet and pick out some shirts. Pretty nice folks up there.

I have made my mind up for sure now.  Our bunch gathered this weekend for a pig roast and it was great. 37 buds rode in and camped in the rain. one rode 8 miles, some rode 150 but we got together. Had a band both nights and a lot of fun.  Would have been hard to say I want to be alone. This weekend I will ride solo but will be thinking of this weekend. ;D

A group of my friends go to the Tomahawk Rally every year. They love it and wouldn't miss it if their Harley's were running on only one cylinder.

Hmmmppphhhh....... Gotta work at the garage tomorrow, and digging in a new gas pipe at the house on Sunday and Monday. Hell of it is that my chain would reach that far.... responsibilities, and obligations.....  Davenport on Labor Day weekend was awsome - wish you all could have been there. Scored some good parts and had a great time. Tear it up for those of us who can't make it.

Just got back from Tomahawk. WOW! Great weather, 1000's of Harleys. 1000's of people. Many events. I loved the lawnmower races. Amazing. Met Myronman there, face to face. He is bad azz and a hard core biker. Good times....

Glad you had a good time and got home safe. Just walked in the door myself. Got up there Friday morning. Saturday we "got the 'ell outta Dodge" and rode up to Presque Isle, then over to Bent's Camp for lunch. Funny, with the numbers of bikes and the crowded mess between Tomahawk and Minocqua, once you got a couple miles north of the  Northern Lights Dealership, we virtually had the road to ourselves. Hwy B from Winchester to Land o lakes is one of the nicest 30 miles of biker roads in Wisconsin......especially when it ain't full of Winnebago's and mini-vans pullin' pontoon boats. I gotta admit, I did accidentally go a few MPH over the speed limit.

speed limits did and other traffic regs were out the window.  as long as one stayed within reason and no one was in danger, the man left you alone....as it should be.   it was a very good time, met cheese and some of his friends.  it was a hoot!
