Don't sound like that is what you expected. Don't blame you. I have a few Rem 700's I'm happy with. May follow your lead before long. If they weren't so small and Handi I may have given up on them by now. I have a 223 S.L. that I like, a 223 H.B. I'm not sure about yet and some issues with 44 mags. 17 HMR that I shoot like a shotgun and 22 mag that I don't care to shoot. Wanted some other barrels but sounds like more hassle than it's worth. Hanging in limbo right now. Don't sound like I'll be sending anything their way for a while again. With the price of ammo and trying to get them to shoot I could buy a nice ACCURATE rifle. Wish I would have bought the Rem Predator rifle when I started down this path. But then I wouldn't have been able to do all this shooting. 22 mag and 17 HMR ammo can break you not to mention 44 mag. And all the reloading supplies if you can find them. Can't believe it's Remington's name. Good Luck to you!

to be honest with yall, i do have 1 handi in for repair... itsa .223 with a broken transfer bar, about a 20 minute job if i take my time.

all these guns should be, can be, made to shoot like the owner wants.
the handi's will be the least $$ to correct in labor costs

all these guns are as good as you keep them.

I'm not knocking the Handis, I love them. I'm just beginning to think I can't shoot for S#!+ anymore. Wondering if I ever could. I'm sure I've been lucky with the 5  700's I have that shoot about DEAD On up to 350+ yds. I did have to adjust the triggers a little bit on them. My main point probably was I am discouraged with the barrel program that I believe is Remington now. I am having a bit of trouble with my 17 hmr, 22 mag, and 223 Dicks Special Handis. I do have a couple of Rugers I have problems with occasionally but they're Rugers.
I think I have it narrowed down to my eyesight, scopes, loads and less steadiness the past couple years. I have bought 1500 17hmr carts. various boxes of 22 mag, 1500+ small rifle primers, 1000 Large pistol primers, four different weights of 44 bullets, a couple different brands of factory 44 mag carts. a few different weights, brands and styles of 22 bullets, for the Handis. I need more barrels. I love the Handis, Otherwise I would have bought 5000 rounds for my 700 rems and just hit everything I shoot at. WHAT FUN WOULD THAT BE?!!! Just MY list for "makin-em shoot straight". No harm taken, I need your services.

One thing about the Handi rifles is they are what they are, and what they are, is a nice simple no frills little rifle that shoot pretty darn good for a gun that breaks down in two pieces.

I've only had one other compact little rifle that I just loved to carry in the woods, and that is my old Winchester 94 30-30 I've owned for decades, but now it has become a safe queen that will be a hand me down some day, and now I have a few Handi's that I'm proud to have to take it's place!
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

jimbo, is that 94 a pre-62 model??

bigvarmit, are you having troubles with Bolt/Ejector/Lifter issues or just plane accuracy?
many problems with accuracy are bullet/load configurations, or crowning.

BEL issues are mainly due to metal fragments left in the action after machining.

the 700 series are simple to make perform.

and its worth the fix, deffinately!!!!!!!!!!!!  they are excellent shooters ;D

Unfortunately no, as I bought it new after I returned home from Nam in 1969, but it's taken quite a few deer, hogs, and various other critters in it's time, and when they stopped making them not long ago, I decided I'd retire it and pass it on to my grand son!

Gendoc, Just not used to missing everything I shoot at this often. May just be me. My first Handi was a 17 hmr sportster. I knew for sure I would never own that round. After everyone I ran into in the ammo isle, gun dept. about everywhere related to shooting swore they were the most accurate and most fun cartridge they had ever shot I became weak. First sign of addiction and I never saw it coming. Only use I saw for the little pill was starlings and I'm yet to hit one. Well I bought the 17 Handi and a 17 Ruger bolt syn. stock the same day. Off my meds. I guess. Neither have hit what I want. Two different scopes on both.
22 mag barrel is not much better. It's had a long nap in the safe. Only rimfire is allowed on state ground around here. Why I got mag barrel. 22 longrifle barrel shoots squirrels out of trees pretty good.
Then first centerfire, 223 Superlight. Dead coyotes at 105yds at night and 195yds daytime. Popped at a crow 100+yds. a couple days ago and think I nicked him. Shot two rounds at gallon jugs at 200 after he flew staggering away and both popped. Gallon jugs a lot bigger and not moving around. Pretty satisfied with it. Friend was surprised the short barrel shot so good. His words. We were sighting in his Ruger 243 and the S.L. outshot his Ruger. I shot his Ruger and it did shoot pretty good.
Have new Dicks 223 H.B. that has been giving me problems so far but just starting on it. Thinking scope, loads, forearm or me. Can't see 44mag sights. Not the guns fault. Sorry to be so Long Winded. Short answer, Just shooting them well.
