Good evenning everybody

. I havent been on here in a while, because my girlfriend made an issue about my time on the puter.
Anyways, hey Double D, looks like your cannon shoot was a blast. Great pics partner.
I was successful in my Antelope draw for 318 (upper Big Hole area). Thats the good news. Now the bad news. My grirlfriend and her son were not successful, so now I might be on my own. I've always wanted to hunt Antelope. I jump beaucoup Antelope in the foothills around Melrose and Dillon areas when I am running the foothills for Mulies. I cant wait for my hunt. I have a little cabin reserved that weekend at Dewey.
I'll make a prediction right now. This is going to be a good year for big antlers. It seems that our weather has been excellent for the health of the beasts this summer. I am seeing a lot of big racks all over the place.
I also bought me a new rifle finally. I wanted a new rifle to compliment my 444 since I gave my Howa 270 to my girlfriend. I had my heart set on one of those new Ruger Compact Magnums at firt, but a luke warm reception and reports of less than exceptable accuracy made me change my mind. I then looked at other rifles including Tikkas, Howas/weatherby Vanguards, and other rifles in the sub $550 category. After reading many reviews here on graybeard and Marlin Owner's forum, I decided on the XL7 in 30-06. I know its not a magnum, so it probably wont be able to kill anything bigger than a squirel, but I'll take my chances

.
I paid $299.99 and then threw a Burris Timberline 4.5x-14x-32mm (w/ballistic plex reticle) scope on it with Burris z rings. Throw in a sling and a cheap case and I am into it for only $600. That is a ready to roll rifle still $100 cheaper than the Ruger, by itself, that I was originally going to buy.
I bought some Winchester silver ballistic tip bullets and now I am just waiting for a chance to get to the range. I wanna use this rifle for my Antelope hunt, so I need to run some boxes of bullets through it between now and the second week of October.
You all have a great night.
