Granny used to drink vinegar in her orange juice with a shot of blackstrap. But I never did ask her what the vinegar was for. What is it for, anyhow?

Vinegar is supposed to be good for arthuritis or just about any thing that ails you.  Google  "Vinegar & Honey"  lots of info on it.

Vinegar also causes unexpected bruising.
A lady friend told me the other night she went to the clinic to have blood drawn.
I asked her, "When they draw your blood, which rises to the surface? The p*ss or the vinegar?"
And that's when I got an unexpected bruise on my shoulder ...  >:(

As Blue Duck suggested, switchel (cider vinegar and honey cut with water) is a good all around tonic.  Hot in cool weather, and a great rehydrater in hot.  I bring a bottle of the vinegar & honey to reenactments, and thin it out good for drinking during the day.

Anyone consuming vinegar on a regular basis should be supplementing their diet with potassium, calcium and vitamin D, due to possible onset of osteoporosis and imbalanced mineral levels in muscle. Vinegar can create medical problems down the road with regular consumption due to its acidic ph level as well. Acidic compounds create an acidic environment in the blood and body (not acid indigestion and the such...you don't feel this type of acid) which creates a positive environment for disease in the body. In the opposite, a basic diet (we are talking acid/base ph scale here) creates an environment in the body where disease has a difficult time surviving.
